Experience
I am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching science. I began tutoring more than twenty years ago. I have experience working as an organic chemist. I also have experience as a college professor. I attended Manhattan College and Stony Brook University. Improving my teaching skills is a continuous activity for me. I am comfortable tutoring students in chemistry and organic chemistry. I am also able to help students prepare for standardized tests. Tutoring is particularly rewarding for me because I love seeing the rapid progress that is possible when a student works at an individual level with an expert. This can happen in a classroom as well, but it is much more difficult. I am particularly adept at relating science to real world examples. Both my experience as an applied chemist and my experiences working with students in group and individual settings have aided my ability to understand students. I also enjoy meeting and working with new learners. My goal as a tutor is to help my students get through the challenges that hold them back from succeeding in academics. I am a published author. I am also a part of many different committees, and I really enjoy chemistry.
